Club Kid: Jordan Firstman's directorial debut explores unexpected fatherhood

Jordan Firstman has released his first feature film, Club Kid, a comedy-drama that follows Peter, a New York City underground party promoter. The story centers on Peter's life being upended when he discovers he is the father of a 10-year-old boy named Arlo, a child he never knew existed.

The film, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival to a seven-minute standing ovation, explores the intersection of the queer nightlife scene and the responsibilities of parenthood. It has received significant critical acclaim, earning high scores on platforms like Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic.

Following its festival success, A24 acquired the distribution rights for approximately 17 million dollars. The film features a cast including Cara Delevingne, Diego Calva, and Reggie Absolom. While the film begins with the high energy of the club scene, it evolves into a more dramatic exploration of personal growth and emotional maturity.
