Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari welcomes first guests

Club Med has opened its new South Africa Beach & Safari resort in KwaZulu‑Natal, welcoming its first guests. The property marks the brand’s first resort in South Africa and its inaugural dual‑location concept that combines a beachfront hotel with a safari lodge.

Located 30 minutes from Durban’s King Shaka International Airport, the beach resort features Club Med’s first Surf Academy, an Exclusive Collection premium space, tennis, padel, a wellness area with spa and hammam, five bars and two restaurants. Guests can continue the experience at the private 18,000‑hectare Vikela Safari Lodge, which offers 75 air‑conditioned tents, family‑focused game drives, and an adults‑only lounge with jacuzzi.

General Manager Michelle Davies said sales demand has exceeded expectations by 50 % and noted that Australian visitor numbers to South Africa have surpassed pre‑COVID levels for 2025, positioning the resort to meet growing demand for all‑inclusive adventure travel.
