Club5 organizers meet to discuss FIS World Cup improvements

During the FIS autumn meetings in Geneva, the Club5 association, representing 27 alpine skiing World Cup organizers, held its annual assembly to discuss the future of the sport and organizational collaboration.

New FIS President Alexander Ospelt met with the group, emphasizing that organizers are fundamental stakeholders. Ospelt stated, “We must address the changes within the FIS together with the national federations and the organizers. To succeed, mutual trust and transparent collaboration are required.”

Key topics included the Organizer Agreement, inspection agreements, and prize money. Club5 president Rainer Senoner stressed the need for a unified voice to promote necessary changes and improve the World Cup product. The assembly also saw leadership updates, with Ingrid Jacquemod and Peter Mall joining the board.

Regarding upcoming competitions, officials Markus Waldner and Peter Gerdol noted that summer inspections are complete and calendars are nearly finalized. Attention is turning toward the upcoming World Championships in Crans-Montana and efforts to increase fan engagement with athletes.
