Clube Desportivo Nacional dismisses head coach João Gião

Clube Desportivo Nacional has officially announced the departure of head coach João Gião. The club reached an agreement to terminate his contract, which was originally set to run until the end of the season.

Gião’s tenure lasted approximately three months, during which the team recorded one victory, one draw, and two losses. Following a recent defeat against Estrela da Amadora, the club decided to move in a different direction. Nacional currently sits in ninth place in the Liga Betclic with four points.

With no permanent successor announced yet, Bruno Abreu, the club’s junior team coach, will serve as the interim manager. Abreu is expected to lead the professional squad for the upcoming match against Sporting CP.
