Cluj ANAF employee sentenced for illegal consulting services

A senior advisor at the Cluj-Napoca Regional General Directorate of Public Finance, Cristina Vlad, has been sentenced to one year and one month of suspended imprisonment. The Cluj Tribunal issued the ruling after the defendant entered a guilty plea agreement with the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA).

Investigators found that between April 2019 and March 2025, Vlad provided paid accounting and tax consultancy services to 22 commercial companies that fell under her direct fiscal inspection authority. These services were performed using cash or bank transfers, including payments made to accounts belonging to her family members.

The illegal activity involved fulfilling obligations for private economic operators while simultaneously holding supervisory and control duties over them. The case included five defendants: the ANAF employee, the company REVENA SRL, and three company administrators.
