Cluj County Advances Construction of New Pediatric Monoblock Hospital
The Cluj County Council is progressing with the construction of the new Pediatric Monoblock Hospital in the Borhanci district of Cluj‑Napoca. Work is being funded from the council’s own budget while the national government’s financing is still awaited. Current activities include preparing the radier plot, installing reinforcement and embedded utilities, laying hydro‑isolation, and building access ramps for the underground parking.
Alin Tișe, president of the Cluj County Council, said the pace of work is good and the hospital will serve the entire Northwest Romania region. By 2025, about 59% of treated children are expected to come from Cluj, with the remainder from neighboring counties such as Bistrița‑Năsăud, Maramureș, Sălaj, Satu Mare and Bihor.
