Cluj County Council begins maintenance on DJ 161B road

The Cluj County Council has launched current and periodic maintenance works on the DJ 161B county road, specifically the Ceanu Mare – Ploscoș section. The project covers nearly 12 kilometers, from km 0+000 to km 11+700.

The work is divided into two distinct sectors. The first 1.35 kilometers, which is currently an asphalt road, will undergo full resurfacing. The remaining 10.35 kilometers, categorized as a stone road, will receive specific maintenance tailored to that surface type.

Alin Tișe, president of the Cluj County Council, noted that while DJ 161B is a secondary transport axis, it is essential for residents in the southeastern part of the county. The road connects the regional urban development hub of Turda to major traffic arteries and facilitates access to significant tourist sites, such as Salina Turda.

Technical operations include milling damaged surfaces, pothole patching, shoulder profiling, and ensuring proper water drainage by cleaning ditches and culverts. Additional tasks involve laying asphalt, ballast layers, and improving property access.
