Cluj County Council Illumines Landmarks for World Blood Donor Day

June 14 marks World Blood Donor Day, an annual global event encouraging voluntary blood donation. In Cluj‑Napoca, Romania, the County Council highlighted the occasion by lighting its administrative headquarters on Calea Dorobanților and the Cluj Arena in red on the evening of 14 June 2026. Council President Alin Tișe called on residents to donate blood, stressing that “blood saves lives.” The council’s protocol with the National Institute of Transfusion supports local awareness campaigns aimed at increasing the number of donors. Individuals can donate at the Cluj Transfusion Center on Nicolae Bălcescu street, Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 13:30. The 2026 campaign theme is “A drop of humanity. Donate blood. Save.”
