Multiple Fatal Road Accidents Sweep Romanian Counties

In the past week several serious road accidents occurred across Romania, leaving multiple victims dead or injured. A 31‑year‑old cyclist was killed and a female cyclist seriously wounded after a driver lost control on the road between Bretea Română and Călan in Hunedoara County. In Galaţi County, a five‑year‑old boy was gravely injured when a car struck him while crossing the street in Gohor. In Brașov County, twin brothers on a motorcycle were hit by a micro‑bus in Codlea; one died on the spot and the other remains in a coma. Other incidents included a 27‑year‑old man rescued after a crash on DJ 108B near Cluj, a fatal collision involving a car and a cap‑de‑pod in Oarja, and a five‑person crash with three children in Suceava where all were taken to hospital. Additional accidents in Tulcea, Timiș (four‑vehicle pile‑up on the A1), Alba Iulia (motorcycle‑car collision) and Hida (driver fled the scene after hitting a bridge) also required emergency response. Police investigations have been opened in several cases for possible reckless driving or homicide through negligence.
