Cluj Motorcyclist Killed After Truck Collision Sets Bike Ablaze

A 36‑year‑old motorcyclist from Câmpia Turzii died on Saturday afternoon after a violent collision with a 59‑year‑old truck driver from Feleacu on DN1 (E60) near the village of Vâlcele in Cluj County. The impact caused the motorcycle to catch fire instantly. Emergency crews from Cluj‑Napoca fire department and a mobile intensive‑care SMURD unit arrived, found the rider in cardiac arrest, and attempted resuscitation, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police reported that the truck driver was travelling from Cluj‑Napoca toward Turda and made a left turn onto a side road without yielding to the oncoming motorcyclist, leading to the crash. The driver tested negative for alcohol. An investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of the accident, and traffic on DN1 was temporarily redirected by police.
