Cluj-Napoca advances digital integration and school health investments

The Cluj-Napoca Local Council has approved a cooperation agreement with Cluj County to implement the ‘CLUJ SMART COUNTY – Integrated Digital Ecosystem’ project. This initiative aims to connect all 81 administrative-territorial units in the county into a single digital ecosystem. The project, coordinated by the Cluj County Council and funded through European funds, will provide cloud-based data storage, increased processing speeds, and interoperability between state entities. It is designed to allow citizens and businesses to interact with both urban and rural town halls online for document issuance and permit applications, while also unifying local tax payment modules.

Separately, Mayor Emil Boc announced that the Cluj-Napoca City Hall invested over 800,000 euros last year to equip dental offices within educational institutions. There are currently 178 medical and dental offices operating across schools, nurseries, and kindergartens in the municipality. The investment focuses on preventive medicine to identify health issues in children at an early stage.
