Cluj-Napoca announces free public transport for students

Students, master's, and doctoral candidates under the age of 30 enrolled in full-time studies at universities in Cluj-Napoca will benefit from free public transport for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB) students can obtain free passes directly through CTP Cluj-Napoca via three methods: requesting a new card online, renewing existing cards at station vending machines, or performing an initial load at one of the 11 CTP sales centers.

Students from Sapientia University and the Protestant Theological Institute receive a 90% discount, making the subscription cost 5.6 lei. Students from other institutions, such as UTCN, USAMV, UMF, UAD, and ANMGD, must purchase monthly subscriptions at CTP sales centers and seek subsequent reimbursement from their respective universities, as these institutions have not signed direct conventions with CTP.
