Cluj-Napoca hosts exhibitions honoring Bishop Áron Márton

Three bilingual exhibitions honoring the life and legacy of Áron Márton, the former Roman Catholic Bishop of Transylvania, have opened in Cluj-Napoca. The exhibitions are part of the 17th Cluj-Napoca Hungarian Days and coincide with the 130th anniversary of his birth.

The displays, organized by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Alba Iulia, are located around St. Michael's Church. They include an exhibition in the church, one in the parish courtyard, and a lighted panel display in front of the church. The exhibits cover his various roles as a teacher, youth pastor, priest, and bishop, as well as his experiences facing persecution, imprisonment, and house arrest during periods of dictatorship.

The openings followed a Holy Mass held at St. Michael's Church to commemorate the beatification of Áron Márton. The exhibitions feature archival photographs and texts in both Hungarian and Romanian.
