Cluj-Napoca Infectious Disease Hospital Leads National Ambulatory Care

The National Health Insurance House (Casa Națională de Asigurări de Sănătate) published 2025 performance indicators for Romanian public hospitals. According to the data, the Infectious Disease Hospital in Cluj‑Napoca ranked first nationwide for the quality of clinical and paraclinical investigations offered to patients.

In 2025 the hospital provided ambulatory services to at least 431,379 patients, averaging about 1,410 daily visits, and its laboratory performed over one million analyses using modern equipment. Alin Tișe, president of the Cluj County Council, said the results confirm the hospital’s status as a reference medical institution and highlight the impact of recent investments and professional staff.

Because funding from the CNAS contract does not fully cover costs, the hospital covered the shortfall with roughly two million lei of its own resources during the first half of the year. It is also implementing two major projects worth about €16 million to fully modernise its infrastructure and develop integrated prevention, early‑detection, diagnostic and monitoring programmes for major cancers.
