Cluj-Napoca to build 50 million euro palliative care hospital

Cluj-Napoca Mayor Emil Boc has announced plans to construct a palliative care hospital in the city with an investment valued at 50 million euros. The facility, located on Valea Gârbăului, is intended to be a first-of-its-kind state-organized hospital structure in Romania's public health system.

The project aims to provide a dignified environment for patients facing serious illnesses, combining medical professionalism with empathy. The hospital is expected to feature over 100 beds and will include increased intensive care capacity to help save lives.

Funding for the project is expected to come from local, national, and European sources. The Zonal Urban Plan has already been approved by the Local Council, with technical indicators awaiting subsequent approval.
