ClwydAlyn invests £3.25m in energy efficiency per new ESG report
ClwydAlyn, a social landlord based in St Asaph, has released its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report for 2025-2026. The report highlights the organization's progress toward its 2025 Corporate Plan goals, which include ending poverty, addressing homelessness, and ensuring residents have access to safe, warm homes.
During the 2025/26 period, the housing association invested £3.25 million in energy efficiency upgrades. Key activities included 255 retrofit assessments and the upgrading of 180 homes through solar panel installations, battery storage, loft insulation, and air source heat pumps. The organization also expanded its portfolio by 210 homes, 194 of which were new builds achieving EPC A ratings.
The report also addressed a statistical shift in Welsh Housing Quality Standard compliance. While previous frameworks showed 100% compliance, the new reporting methodology recorded 0% due to stricter requirements for validated supporting evidence. ClwydAlyn stated this change reflects new paperwork and validation standards rather than a decline in housing quality.
