CM Punk announces return of Straight Edge Savior gimmick for WWE Worlds Collide

CM Punk has announced the return of his ‘Straight Edge Savior’ persona for the upcoming WWE Worlds Collide event in Chicago. The former Undisputed WWE Champion teased the return of his iconic mask and his ‘This Fire Burns’ entrance theme via social media.

The Worlds Collide event, scheduled for September 26 at the Allstate Arena, will feature talent from WWE NXT, the main roster, and Lucha Libre AAA. Punk’s announcement follows his recent loss of the Undisputed WWE Championship to Sami Zayn on SmackDown.

In recent appearances, Punk has been involved in a rivalry with Kevin Owens, who interfered in the championship match between Punk and Zayn. Punk also previously noted that his appearances in NXT were intended to provide him with more wrestling ‘reps’ to maintain his readiness.
