CM Punk reveals ongoing vertigo from 2002 skull fracture

Professional wrestler CM Punk has revealed that he continues to suffer from bouts of vertigo resulting from a skull fracture sustained over two decades ago. During an appearance on the Netflix special ‘Hot Ones: Extra Heat’, Punk explained that the injury occurred in June 2002 during a match against Reckless Youth in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Punk described the medical impact of the injury, noting that the fracture affected the bones in his inner ear responsible for maintaining equilibrium. He compared the sensation to “dice inside a cup” being shaken around, stating that certain movements can still trigger the condition. He noted that looking straight up while lying down can cause the world to spin.

According to Punk, he has experienced these episodes during professional wrestling matches, sometimes without realizing the cause at the time. He also jokingly attributed the execution of his moonsault to the lingering effects of the vertigo.
