Câmara de Lobos Youth Engagement and Fishing Fleet Renewal Highlighted

The Juventude Social Democrata (JSD) of Câmara de Lobos held a training session on “Política de Proximidade” that brought together the municipal president Celso Bettencourt and councillor Salustino Jesus. The event aimed to connect young people with local politics, stressing the role of volunteerism and direct contact with community needs. "É de extrema importância que a juventude esteja inserida nas associações locais…", said Jesus.

At the same time, the PSD parliamentary group attended the Festa do Peixe Espada Preto in Câmara de Lobos. Sérgio Oliveira called for an urgent renewal of the local fishing fleet, recalling the recent visit of the European Commissioner for Oceans who inspected the vessels on site. He highlighted that modernising the fleet is essential for safety, better working conditions and preserving the town’s fishing heritage.
