Câmara Municipal de Elvas denies social media corruption allegations

The Elvas Municipal Council (Câmara Municipal de Elvas) has issued a formal clarification to deny several serious accusations circulating on social media. The institution stated that these claims distort facts to create a false public perception of incompetence and corruption.

Specifically, the Council addressed and denied several allegations, including claims that the President uses the municipal credit card, that the President is a defendant in a specific legal process, and that the municipality failed to report employee embezzlement to the Public Ministry. The Council asserted that criminal complaints and disciplinary proceedings have indeed been initiated regarding financial irregularities and that direct procurement processes are conducted strictly within legal limits.
