Cmc Spa workers maintain mobilization amid construction site shutdowns
Labor unions FenealUil, Filca-Cisl, and Fillea-Cgil have maintained a national state of agitation following a meeting with Cmc Spa management. The mobilization stems from the prolonged inactivity at various construction sites, which has lasted for over a year.
Union representatives stated that the company has failed to provide clear information regarding the resumption of work or a definitive industrial plan. The shutdowns affect approximately 2,000 employees working on strategic large-scale projects across multiple Italian cities, including Palermo, Catania, Bari, Taranto, Salerno, Genova, La Spezia, Bologna, Trento, Milano, and Ravenna.
During the meeting, unions demanded a clear timeline for restarting operations, the presentation of an industrial plan, and the regular payment of salaries, supplementary compensation, and construction funds. Unions warned they will monitor payment commitments closely and may initiate further mobilization if wage requirements are not met.
