CME Group launches Uniswap UNI futures

CME Group has launched Uniswap (UNI) futures, marking the first time a decentralized exchange governance token has been listed on the derivatives venue. The trading debut occurred on October 19, 2026, following regulatory approval and a month-long preparation period for institutional compliance and risk systems.

The futures are available in two sizes: a standard contract covering 10,000 UNI and a micro contract covering 1,000 UNI. Both are cash-settled against the CME CF Uniswap-Dollar Reference Rate via the CME Globex platform, providing 24/7 access. These products were announced alongside Bitcoin Cash futures on September 22, 2026.

Following the initial announcement, the UNI token price experienced a spike of approximately 15–19%, reaching between $10.43 and $10.90, before retracing to the $7.30–$7.50 range prior to the official launch. The move reflects CME Group’s strategy to expand its cryptocurrency offerings beyond Bitcoin and Ether to meet institutional demand for regulated hedging tools.
