CME Group to launch GPU compute futures for AI hardware

CME Group and Silicon Data have announced plans to launch two new compute futures contracts on October 5, 2026, pending regulatory approval. The contracts, which will be listed on NYMEX, are designed to provide standardized exposure to the rental costs of high-performance graphics processing units (GPUs).

The new financial products will track Silicon Data indexes for Nvidia H100 and Blackwell B200 GPUs. Each contract will represent one month of rental costs based on regular pricing benchmarks. These tools are intended to help AI developers, hyperscalers, and other businesses hedge against the volatility of computing costs associated with large-scale artificial intelligence workloads and data center operations.
