CMEB João Alves ranks 4th among Mato Grosso municipal schools

CMEB João Alves dos Santos, located in the Dom Bosco Educational Complex, achieved a historic result in the 2025 Saeb (Basic Education Assessment System). With a score of 8.0, the school now ranks 4th among municipal schools in Mato Grosso for the early years of Elementary School.

This achievement marks a significant turnaround for the institution. Until 2022, the school was classified as an 'supported school,' receiving specific monitoring due to low performance indices. The improvement is attributed to public policies implemented by the City Hall of Barra do Garças through the Municipal Education Secretariat, including continuous teacher training, the acquisition of literacy-specific teaching materials, and participation in the Alfabetiza MT program.

Mayor Dr. Adilson Gonçalves stated that the result demonstrates the effectiveness of planning, investment, and the valuation of education professionals. In addition to CMEB João Alves, four other municipal schools achieved average scores above 7 in the 2025 Saeb.
