CMON aborts acquisition of blockchain game developer Blissful Link

CMON announced on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that it will not proceed with the purchase of Blissful Link, a developer of the Web3 play‑to‑earn game Capverse. The company said the required conditions for the deal were not met, but the cancellation will not have an adverse impact on its balance sheet. Blissful Link has reported annual losses of US$300,000‑800,000 and debts up to US$400,000, raising questions about its financial viability.

CMON, once a leading crowdfunded tabletop publisher, has faced its own financial challenges, including office closures, a public share offering and the sale of several IPs such as Zombicide. The aborted acquisition underscores the difficulty of expanding into blockchain gaming amid ongoing fiscal pressures.
