CMPC sells Maule forest assets to J.P. Morgan Natural Capital

CMPC has agreed to sell approximately 60,000 hectares of forest land in Chile’s Maule Region to J.P. Morgan Natural Capital for US$365.5 million. The sale, executed through its subsidiary Forestal Mininco, involves productive pine radiata plantations representing about 5% of CMPC’s total forest land area.

As part of the transaction, CMPC has entered into a long-term wood supply agreement with Bosques San Pedro SpA, a subsidiary of J.P. Morgan Natural Capital. This agreement is intended to ensure the continued supply of raw materials for the company’s cardboard plant located in Maule.

Sebastián Moraga, CMPC’s Vice President of Finance and Administration, stated that the deal was the result of a competitive process aimed at strengthening the company’s focus on its core businesses and increasing efficiency. The transaction is expected to positively impact the company’s financial statements between the fourth quarter of this year and the first quarter of 2027.
