CNC allocates €1.5 million to support French video game studios

The Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée (CNC) has announced an exceptional €1.5 million aid package specifically for French video game studios. Announced during Paris Games Week, this fund is designed to finance additional content for games already on the market, such as downloadable content (DLC), updates, and in-game events.

The initiative aims to extend the commercial lifespan of existing productions and maintain the activity of creative and technical teams. This measure comes as the French video game industry faces significant challenges, including rising production costs, a slowdown in investment, and increased international competition following a period of growth during the pandemic.

Interested companies can submit applications until December 14, 2026. Projects will be evaluated based on artistic quality, technical feasibility, and economic prospects.
