CNE delivers new bridge connecting Pérez Zeledón and Quepos

The National Commission for Risk Prevention and Emergency Management (CNE) has officially delivered a new vehicular bridge over the Clementina stream, restoring a vital connection between Pérez Zeledón and Quepos. The project, which cost over ₡1.3 billion, was completed nine years after Storm Nate destroyed the previous structure in 2017.

The new infrastructure includes a 35-meter-long bridge, 1,000 meters of new access road, and improved drainage systems. To ensure long-term safety, the bridge was constructed in a more secure location than the original site.

The project directly benefits 564 people in the El Brujo de Río Nuevo sector. It facilitates the transport of agricultural and livestock products, strengthens local commerce, and improves access to tourism destinations such as the Piedras Blancas area. Additionally, the route serves as an alternative connection between the Valle del General and National Route 34 (Costanera Sur).
