CNI and industrial federations plan 2027 campaign against Custo Brasil

The National Confederation of Industry (CNI) and various state industrial federations met in Brasília to establish an economic agenda focused on increasing industrial competitiveness by 2027. A central component of this strategy is a joint campaign to combat ‘Custo Brasil’ (the Brazil Cost), which aims to highlight threats to productivity such as bureaucracy, inflation, political polarization, and the tax burden.

In addition to economic reforms, the leadership discussed technological advancement through the planned Integrated Institute for Industrial Innovation. Scheduled to begin operations in 2027, the institute will coordinate complex programs and support the Senai Technology and Innovation Network, with a specific focus on areas like biotechnology to strengthen national industrial sovereignty.

The meeting also addressed the upcoming political landscape and the 7th Mission of the New Industry Brazil, emphasizing the need for a predictable economic environment to stimulate investment and job creation.
