CNLF seizes 144 million FCFA in illicit goods in Burkina Faso

The Coordination Nationale de Lutte contre la Fraude (CNLF) has seized illicit and fraudulent goods valued at approximately 144,152,000 FCFA during operations conducted over a two-week period in and around Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

Under the leadership of National Coordinator Dr. Mohamadi Compaoré, the CNLF targeted various contraband networks. Key seizures included 200 cartons of unauthorized veterinary products, such as Ivermectin, Propencillin, and multivitamins, valued at 64,317,000 FCFA. Additionally, agents seized 235 cartons of expired Artemether worth roughly 16 million FCFA in the Kossodo industrial zone.

Other intercepted items included 1,000 cartons of counterfeit OLYMPIA brand motor oil valued at 43,200,000 FCFA, as well as various brands of smuggled cigarettes, including Gold Seal, ORIS, and Millionnaires, valued at 2,635,000 FCFA. The CNLF stated these operations aim to protect the national economy and public, animal, and livestock health from the risks posed by illegal trade.
