CNN Brasil honored by Sinprifert for fertilizer industry coverage

CNN Brasil has been honored by the National Union of the Raw Materials Industry for Fertilizers (Sinprifert) at the 2026 Food Sovereignty Ambassadors Awards. The network received the award in the Journalism category for its in-depth coverage of the fertilizer industrial chain and the impacts of geopolitical crises on the Brazilian economy.

The recognition follows the launch of CNN Brasil’s agribusiness vertical in January 2026. The award announcement coincided with World Fertilizer Day and the release of an open letter by Sinprifert, which outlines five industry commitments and advocates for expanding national production of agricultural inputs to reduce external dependency.

Other 2026 laureates include Senator Tereza Cristina, the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), and the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp).
