CNPEM opens applications for Escola Sirius teacher training
Applications are open until September 20 for the 9th edition of the Escola Sirius for High School Teachers (Espem). This free initiative, organized by the National Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), offers a week of scientific immersion at the CNPEM campus in Campinas, Brazil, scheduled for January 11 to 16, 2027.
The program is designed for physics, chemistry, and biology teachers from both public and private high schools and adult education (EJA) networks. Participants will explore scientific facilities and research programs involving synchrotron light, biosciences, biorrenewables, nanotechnology, and advanced engineering. The curriculum includes technical visits, experimental practices, and formative workshops aimed at classroom application.
Up to 60 spots are available, with an effort to prioritize at least two candidates from each federative unit. While primarily for high school teachers, university professors and certain teaching students may apply for remaining vacancies.
