CNRS announces sixth edition of unusual science visits in Occitanie
The French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) has announced the sixth edition of its ‘Visites insolites’ program, scheduled to take place from October 7 to 18, 2026, in the Occitanie region.
As part of the Science Festival, the initiative offers five free immersive visits to various laboratories and experimental platforms. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with researchers in fields such as solar energy, geosciences, evolutionary biology, and ecology. Specific locations include the Centre de recherche sur la biodiversité et l’environnement (CRBE) in Toulouse and the Odeillo solar furnace in Font-Romeu-Odeillo-Via.
To participate, individuals can enter a selection process between August 25 and September 20, 2026, by answering thematic questions. Since its inception in 2020, the program has hosted nearly 600 visits with approximately 6,000 participants.
