CNSS and MINERD launch social security education pilot
The National Council for Social Security (CNSS) and the Dominican Republic Ministry of Education (MINERD) have launched a pilot program to integrate social security education into classrooms. The initiative began at the Gregorio Santos School in the Pedro Brand municipality with the distribution of educational materials for both students and teachers.
The project aims to introduce children and adolescents to social security concepts, including their rights and duties, as well as the principles and benefits of the Dominican Social Security System. Aura Celeste Fernández Rodríguez, General Manager of the CNSS, stated that the initiative is a step toward forming informed citizens. The program is the result of several years of collaborative work between the CNSS and MINERD.
