Co-Creation Forum to promote Japan's regional charm via 2027 World Masters Games

The 2nd Co-Creation Forum, titled ‘Sharing Japan’s Charm with the World!’, will be held on October 20, 2026, at the Osaka University Nakanoshima Center. Co-hosted by the Yumeshima New Industry and City Creation Organization and the Japan Association of Mayors, the event focuses on regional revitalization and international connectivity.

A central theme of the forum is utilizing the upcoming World Masters Games 2027 Kansai to promote urban development and global engagement. As the first time this international lifelong sports event will be held in Japan, it is expected to attract tens of thousands of participants and visitors to the Kansai region. The forum aims to leverage this event to showcase local history, culture, nature, and industry to an international audience, fostering inbound tourism and global networks.

The program includes keynote speeches and a panel discussion featuring government representatives and local mayors, including the mayors of Kishiwada and Minamiawaji. The event is designed to facilitate collaboration between local governments, academia, and the private sector to create sustainable regional development models.
