Co Linh Tunnel Project Speeds Up to Meet Early 2027 Deadline
The Co Linh tunnel, a new underground link connecting the Vinh Tuy Bridge (Phase 2) with Đàm Quang Trung road in Long Biên, Hanoi, entered its ninth month of construction after breaking ground in October 2025. Contractors have intensified work, deploying additional crews, machinery and overtime shifts to finish the technical road opening before the Tet holiday in early 2027. City authorities have further ordered the schedule be advanced, targeting completion by 30 April 2027.
To accommodate the accelerated works, extensive temporary fencing has narrowed the existing carriageway at the Co Linh junction, worsening peak‑hour congestion. Once the tunnel and its approach roads are completed, officials expect a significant reduction in traffic bottlenecks at the intersection and improved connectivity among surrounding routes, enhancing Hanoi’s overall transport network.
