Co-op appoints new Group CDIO and launches retail analytics platform

Co-op has appointed Jon Braithwaite, a former executive at McDonald’s and Compass Group, as its Interim Group Chief Digital and Information Officer. Braithwaite joins the organization to lead technology initiatives aimed at serving member-owners, customers, and colleagues.

In a separate development, digital commerce data specialist eStoreBrands has partnered with Co-op to launch Co-op Catalyst. This analytics platform is designed for the quick commerce category, providing suppliers with direct access to Co-op’s QCommerce data across its website and delivery aggregator partners.

The platform will allow suppliers to monitor product performance, search positioning, and store-level availability. Leveraging Co-op’s network of 2,300 convenience stores, Catalyst aims to provide insights into the UK’s quick commerce market that were previously unavailable to brand owners. The platform is expected to open to suppliers later in 2026.
