Co-op Wholesale to discontinue Peckish app in favor of Snappy Shopper integration
Co-op Wholesale has announced the discontinuation of its rapid delivery app, Peckish, which is scheduled to officially close on 2 November. The decision follows the platform's failure to meet its target of signing up 1,000 independent stores; the service ultimately onboarded only 68 retailers and faced low order volumes.
In a strategic shift, the company is pivoting toward a new IT integration with Snappy Shopper. This integration will link Snappy Shopper directly to Co-op’s Evolution EPoS till system, allowing independent retailers to manage orders more efficiently by automating tasks such as stock control and pricing management.
Additionally, the new capability will utilize Snappy Technologies’ order aggregation tool, enabling retailers to manage orders from multiple major platforms, including Deliveroo, Just Eat, and Uber Eats, through a single interface. Managing Director Katie Secretan stated that the move aims to focus on the company’s primary toolkit by providing services that support retailer growth through established and proven delivery ecosystems.
