Coach Kim Sang-sik discusses life in Vietnam and high Hanoi housing costs
Vietnam national football team coach Kim Sang-sik has expressed his appreciation for the country and the passion of its football fans following the ASEAN Cup 2026 victory. The South Korean strategist noted that the atmosphere at My Dinh Stadium resembles the energy of a World Cup, specifically highlighting the unique local tradition of ‘đi bão’ (street celebrations).
Kim also shared personal reflections regarding his family and his connection to Vietnam, which he now considers a second home. He revealed that his wife has suggested they live in Vietnam permanently due to the warm reception from fans, though he jokingly remarked that the high cost of housing in Hanoi remains a significant obstacle to making such a move.
