Kim Sang-sik leads Vietnam to second consecutive ASEAN Hyundai Cup title

Vietnam's national football team, led by manager Kim Sang-sik, has secured its second consecutive ASEAN Hyundai Cup title. The team clinched the championship after a 2-2 draw in the second leg of the final against Thailand, winning 4-2 on aggregate.

Following the victory, Kim Sang-sik expressed his ambition to lead Vietnam to the FIFA World Cup. He noted that FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed interest in seeing Vietnam compete on the world stage. Kim also highlighted the team's recent success, including a significant unbeaten streak.

During press conferences, Kim humorously remarked on the team's luck regarding opponent own goals during the tournament. Looking ahead, the team is preparing for the AFC Asian Cup in January, where they are scheduled to face South Korea in the group stages.
