Coach Ömer Uğur develops 71 national athletes in Tatvan

Ömer Uğur, a martial arts coach based in the Tatvan district of Bitlis, has spent 24 years training children and youth in muaythai and kickboxing. Since beginning his coaching career in 2002, Uğur has provided instruction to over 9,500 young people, with approximately 5,000 of them obtaining official licenses in these disciplines.

Uğur’s coaching has significantly contributed to Turkish national sports, having produced 71 athletes who have represented Turkey in international competitions. His students have achieved various accolades, including world championships, world runner-up positions, and numerous European and national titles. He estimates that his trainees have secured more than 300 Turkish championships.

In addition to his local coaching, Uğur has served as the Muaythai Eastern Anatolia Regional President since 2010 and previously held the role of national teams coordinator for the Turkish Muaythai Federation for four years.
