Coach Nazmiye Kaya prepares son for European Championship

Nazmiye Kaya, a kickboxing coach based in Ankara, is currently preparing her son, Onur Kaya, for the upcoming European Championship in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Kaya has been training her son for over 20 years, having introduced him to sports at the age of five.

Onur Kaya has achieved significant success under his mother's guidance, including becoming a Turkish champion in Savate Combat (French boxing) and a world third-place finisher in 2025, as well as a Turkish kickboxing champion in 2026. He has earned nearly 150 medals in various competitions both in Turkey and abroad.

Nazmiye Kaya, who began her own athletic career in 1986, is an experienced coach and referee in disciplines including karate, kickboxing, Muay Thai, and wushu. She operates her own sports gym where she continues to train athletes.
