Coachella renews YouTube livestreaming deal for four years
Goldenvoice has renewed its partnership with YouTube to livestream the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival for an additional four years. The decision came after the promoter rejected competing bids from Netflix and Amazon.
Goldenvoice CEO Paul Tollett stated that YouTube was selected due to its massive global audience and the benefit of free access without requiring user registration. The expanded deal will include the production of mini-documentaries and artist-focused video content to be aired during livestreamed set breaks and in the period leading up to the festival.
Since beginning its livestreaming efforts over a decade ago, Coachella has used the platform to reach international audiences, particularly in regions with large YouTube user bases such as South Korea, Nigeria, and India.
