Coachella Valley legal updates and community news

Several legal and community developments are occurring in the Coachella Valley. Former Silvercrest CEO William Rodriguez is scheduled to appear in court regarding a 2024 hit-and-run in Cathedral City that resulted in a fatality. While murder charges were dismissed, Rodriguez faces felony hit-and-run and suspended license charges.

In Palm Desert, the arraignment for Vicky Kim, who is accused of killing her husband at a condominium complex, has been delayed for a third time as she has not been cleared to appear in court.

Additionally, the Palm Springs community is mourning the death of entertainer James “Gypsy” Haake at age 94. A former Broadway dancer and host of Carnival Cabaret, Haake was a prominent figure in the local entertainment scene and held a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
