Coachella Valley weather forecast shows cooling trend after extreme heat

The Coachella Valley is experiencing extreme heat and high humidity, with temperatures in the area reaching approximately 110 degrees. An extreme heat warning for the region is set to expire this evening at 8 p.m.

Forecasts indicate that humidity levels, characterized by dew points in the 60s and 70s, will begin to ease as onshore flow brings wind gusts of 20 to 40 mph to wind-prone regions. A drying trend is expected to begin Sunday, with dew points dropping into the 40s in western valley cities.

This shift is expected to coincide with a gradual cooling trend. While Sunday highs may remain slightly above seasonal averages at around 103 degrees, temperatures are projected to fall into the low 100s by Tuesday, with overnight lows returning to the 70s.
