Coady Institute launches community conversation series in Nova Scotia
The Coady Institute at St. Francis Xavier University, in partnership with the Connecting the Dots Network, has launched the People’s School series through the Topshee Memorial Program. This initiative aims to bring residents across northeastern Nova Scotia together to discuss community issues and explore future possibilities.
The inaugural gathering, titled ‘Reimagining Volunteerism’, is scheduled for November 26. The event will take place across four locations—Antigonish, Guysborough, Louisdale, and Whycocomagh—utilizing virtual connections to facilitate shared learning and discussion.
The series focuses on how volunteerism can evolve to meet the needs of modern communities. Organizers noted the importance of addressing changing demographics, such as aging volunteer leadership, to create more inclusive and diverse models of community governance.
