Coahuila and Nuevo León launch joint border security operation
The governments of Coahuila and Nuevo León have launched the ‘Operativo Espejo de Prevención y Blindaje’ (Mirror Operation for Prevention and Shielding) to strengthen security along their shared borders. The initiative involves more than 1,500 personnel from various law enforcement and military agencies.
Coahuila Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas and Nuevo León Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda coordinated the effort to increase patrols on highways, rural roads, and community areas. The operation includes participation from the Mexican Army, National Guard, Navy, state prosecutors, and state police forces from both entities.
In Coahuila, the deployment covers seven municipalities: Saltillo, Arteaga, Candela, Piedras Negras, Guerrero, Hidalgo, and Juárez. The objective is to enhance intelligence, prevention, and response capabilities to deter criminal activity and maintain order in the border regions.
