Coahuila authorities investigate 12-year-old girl's pregnancy

The Coahuila Ministry of Health has confirmed a case involving a 12-year-old girl discovered to be approximately 34 weeks pregnant. The girl was taken to the General Hospital in Múzquiz by her mother after experiencing abdominal discomfort, leading medical staff to detect the advanced stage of gestation.

Following the discovery, hospital personnel notified the State Attorney General's Office and the Procuraduría para Niños, Niñas y la Familia (Pronnif) to activate protection protocols for the minor. Preliminary investigations suggest that another 12-year-old boy may be the father.

Authorities are currently conducting investigations to determine the circumstances of the pregnancy and identify any criminal conduct. Due to the involvement of minors, specific details regarding the identities of those involved are being withheld while medical follow-up and legal proceedings continue.
