Coahuila authorities recover over one ton of human remains from clandestine graves

Search collectives and state authorities in Coahuila have recovered more than one ton of human bone remains from clandestine graves. According to the search group Grupo VIDA, the total weight exceeds one ton when combining the 725.213 kilograms recorded by the State Attorney General's Office with additional remains processed by the Regional Center for Human Identification.

During 1,476 operations, authorities also located 116,326 dental pieces. Grupo VIDA has identified remains in 29 different locations across Coahuila, noting that at least 10 of these sites are suspected to be extermination fields. Recent searches in the Viesca municipality, specifically in a dune area of Ejido Salitrillo, led to the discovery of five graves containing human remains in just three days of work.
