Coahuila candidates focus on water access and public transport in local election bids

Pily de Aguinaga, the Morena‑PT candidate for state deputy in Coahuila’s District 10, highlighted the chronic lack of water and drainage infrastructure in the eastern neighborhoods of Torreón. Drawing on her experience with the National Water Commission and the child‑rights prosecutor’s office, she pledged to monitor public spending, finish the Agua Saludable project and strengthen legal support for women and families.

Luz Elena Morales Núñez, running for the same legislature from District 13 under the Alianza Ciudadana por la Seguridad (PRI‑UDC), pledged to secure state budgets for the “Aquí Vamos” mobility program, which aims to extend bus routes and improve service in Saltillo’s underserved colonies. Her campaign included visits to markets and neighborhoods to discuss mobility, safety and public services.

Both candidates framed their platforms around improving basic services—water provision in Torreón and public transport in Saltillo—while appealing to voters’ concerns about family welfare and community infrastructure.
